Whitehawk u18’s 3 v Shoreham u18’s 1

Friday 15th August

Another solid performance from the boys saw an early penalty converted by Mike Thomas. Most of the possession and attacks were from the Whitehawk side with the main worry being a poor throw in back to goalkeeper Jordan Hawkins putting him under unnecessary pressure. Good work down the right side saw a Billy Miller cross converted by George Coltherd-Walls for a 2-0 half time lead.
Shoreham came out more determined in the second half and put the Whitehawk defence under more pressure. Midway through the half Shoreham got their reward following a long clearance by their goalkeeper who had collect from a Whitehawk corner, the high ball was not dealt with and the striker broke through to finish well into the corner of the net. This was a wake up call needed and more good chances were squandered by the Whitehawk strikers either by overplaying or Shoreham’s keeper making some great saves. However he could do nothing about Whitehawk’s 3rd goal from Harry Shooman who rifled home from 25 yards for an early goal of the season contender.

The game finished 3-1 and was another good pre season run out for the squad.
