Whitehawk FC 3 – 4 Maidenhead United FC
Maidstone opened the scoring, then went behind – twice – and still managed to take the points.
Ex-Premier striker DJ Campbell scored within 2 minutes for Maidenhead, after mis-communication in the Whitehawk defence. Jake Robinson was quick to strike back for the home side direct from a free kick, after 8 minutes. The free kick was won by Sam Deering who went past two players before being fouled just outside the penalty area. Whitehawk then took the lead through Sahr Kabba who converted Lee Hills’ cross after 25 minutes. Whitehawk were then looking good until half time.
HT 2 – 1
It was Campbell again, after 58 minutes to bring the visitors level with another side foot finish. Again Whitehawk re-took the lead quickly (61 mins) when Jake Robinson lashed in a 15 yarder for 3-2.
After 65 minutes John Sullivan made a great save from Danny Green and soon after Kabba had the ball in the Maidenhead goal – but it was ruled offside.
80 minutes saw DJ Campbell replaced by Whitehawk old boy Jacob Erskine. 3 minutes later Reece Tison-Lascaris (who had come on at ht) was first to the rebound after Sullivan had saved Green’s initial shot making the score 3-3.
On 89 minutes Maidenhead scored the 4th and winning goal when Erskin scored at the near post from Green’s corner.
